Our
return to Red Swan meant that we would have to un-winterize the
boat so that we could use the systems once again. Even after completing
this task, it was necessary to keep our heaters going because the
temperatures often went down into the high thirty’s at night but
the days were quite pleasant. Thanks to friends, we were able to
make a trip to Ocean City MD and stay for a couple of the really
cold days. In fact we even saw snow for about fifteen minutes while
we were there. We also had a chance to go to Assateague Island to
see the wild horses and other wildlife.
Back
on the boat we completed projects and started some new ones so that
we could make life aboard a little more comfortable. Such things
as deck shades to make it cooler below deck during the really hot
days and adding shelves and storage compartments for our gear.
There was an opportunity to
work the Bay Bridge Boat Show for a few days so that was added to
our schedule. It’s interesting to see what goes into setting up, managing
and taking down after the show. It’s likely that the fall show will
be on our schedule for this year too. |
